SysMan Role

The Army has transitioned all operating system, application, and patch packaging responsibilities from the former Army Golden Master (AGM) Program to the SysMan Team (effective 28 March 2025). While the AGM name is retired, the same personnel continue to build, test, and release packages for MCM, AUDS, and stand-alone systems without interruption.

CHESS/Digital Marketplace (DM) vendors may pre-load desktop and notebook computers sold to Army customers with the currently approved SysMan image. Alternatively, vendors may provide the current version of the Microsoft Windows OS. This applies to all DM hardware contracts, including ADMC-3 and ITES-4H.

To verify the latest operating system configurations, visit the SysMan SharePoint Online (SPO) Portal. If you require recovery media, contact your local NEC (or equivalent) or email the SysMan Support Desk at usarmy.netcom.mbx.sysman-support@army.mil.

If your organization requires a non-SysMan or custom operating system image, you must adhere to the following workflow: 1.Ensure CIO/G6 Compliance-->Coordinate Custom Image & Quote with DM Vendor-->If Required,Obtain SoNA

Coordinate any custom image requirements directly with your DM vendor. Ensure you obtain a price quote for this service before issuing a delivery order.

If DM vendors cannot meet your specific requirements (such as a specialized OS), submit a SoNA request through the DM website to purchase from a non-DM contract. Before submitting your request, you must obtain a product quote from the non-DM vendor and include a detailed justification explaining why DM cannot fulfill the requirement.

1. Unapproved Custom Images: Deploying a custom image without verifying CIO/G-6 compliance or coordinating with DM can delay procurement and create network compliance issues. 2. Pre-SoNA Quotes: DM will reject SoNA requests that lack an attached commercial quote or a comprehensive technical justification.
