Hardware Contracts
The two ID/IQ hardware contracts are ADMC-2 and ITES-3H. ADMC-2 includes commodity purchases of commercial off-the-shelf desktops, notebooks, ruggedized and semi-ruggedized devices and more. ITES-3H includes all hardware and related software and services for end-to-end equipment solutions. CHESS also offers Mobility Services consisting of commercial off-the-shelf purchase of WiFi only mobile devices, and accessories.
AIT & RFID Contracts
The Program Executive Officer, Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS), Product Manager, Joint-Automatic Identification Technology (PM J-AIT) [now Product Director, Automated Movement and Identification Solutions (PD AMIS)] is responsible for maintaining Automated Information Technology (AIT) product procurement contracts for the DOD. All U.S. Army organizations and activities will procure AIT products and services from PD AMIS. Direct procurement of AIT products and services from commercial sources is not authorized. U.S. Army organizations and activities are encouraged to coordinate directly with PD AMIS on any AIT initiatives and offer recommendations to include other value added AIT products to contracts.
Army/Department of Defense Information Network Approved Products List (DODIN APL) Acquisitions
The DODIN APL is the only listing of equipment by DOD to be fielded in the Defense Information System Network (DISN). DOD components are required to fulfill their system needs by only purchasing APL listed products, providing one of the listed products meets their needs.
Consolidated Buy
Army organizations are required to purchase all desktop and notebook computers through the Army Consolidated Buy (CB). CBs are open for ordering twice a year: Jan-Mar and Jun-Sep. Army organizations purchasing non-CB desktops and/or notebooks must have a CB exception.
